Samsung Refrigerator Error Codes: What They Mean (Tampa Tech Guide)
From 22 E to 14 C to PC ER — a plain-English guide to the Samsung fridge codes we diagnose most often in Tampa Bay homes.
21 E / 22 E — Freezer or fridge fan
Fan motor failure or icing on the fan blade. Often resolves temporarily after a forced defrost (hold Energy Saver + Lighting for 8 seconds) but the fan or defrost system usually needs service.
14 E / 14 C — Ice maker sensor
The ice maker thermistor has failed or the harness is pinched. Common on French-door 4-door Flex models. Replacing the ice maker assembly is usually the long-term fix.
PC ER / PC CH — Communication error
Main control board can't talk to the panel. Usually a connector backed out after a power surge. Worth a tech visit — running it in this state can damage other boards.
OF OF — Display/demo mode
Not an error. The fridge is in showroom mode and not cooling. Hold Energy Saver + Lighting (or Power Freeze + Power Cool) for 5 seconds to exit.
